Fossils
Fossils are natural records of life long extinct, preserving extraordinary detail from eras that stretch back hundreds of millions of years. Among the most celebrated are the ammonites of Madagascar, which are at the heart of this collection. These spiral-shelled marine creatures thrived during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, and in Madagascar’s deposits they are often preserved with remarkable clarity, defined ridges, and even flashes of mineralization that make them true collector’s treasures. Large, undamaged specimens are increasingly rare, making Madagascan ammonites especially prized.
While ammonites form the foundation of this category, the collection also includes remarkable fossils from beyond Madagascar. These rarities include a complete hadrosaur footprint from Colorado and an intact Otodus megalodon tooth whose enamel and ridges have survived millions of years. Together, these specimens showcase the breadth of prehistoric life — large, rare, and museum-quality fossils that bring the deep history of Earth vividly into the present.
